Travel / Nature / News
" You cant miss it , just look for the Owl with the 2 metre wingspan
."
Well , it would be that easy if there were more than only 100 left
in the wild in Japan's Eastern Hokkaido .
This October a group of Australian nature enthusiasts will be heading
to
Japan`s northern island of Hokkaido , in search of Blakiston`s Fish
Owl ,
the worlds largest owl , weighing up to 4.5 kilos .
Brisbane based travel company Destination Management in cooperation
with
The Wildlife Preservation Bureau of Hokkaido will be taking a group
to see
these rare owls as well as the famous Japanese Crane and Great White
Fronted Goose .
Many other bird species will also be looked for as well as Brown Bear
, a rare
Alpine Butterfly , Japanese Antelope and the unusual Crying Rabbit .
