We have created an exclusive series of visits on this tour that you will not find from any other company. You will be venturing off the beaten track to meet craft artists, potters and a bonsai master where you will most likely be the only foreign guest.

See examples of Edo period and contemporary architecture, watch craft makers producing Shibori Dyeing, visit Noritake Park and see potters at work in studios in Mashiko, Shigaraki and Tokoname, a great opportunity to look for unique ikebana containers.

Special arrangements have been made for our guests to visit the headquarters of the Ikenobo School of Ikebana in Kyoto as well as headquarters of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana in Tokyo.

GARDENS, POTTERY & INDIGO DYE

We will take you to the gardens of Sankeien, Ryoanji and Kinkakuji, Nikko and Fuji Hakone Izu National Parks and Omiya Bonsai Village.

You will also look into the culture and history of Japan by visiting temples and shrines and we have arranged for you to experience a private Tea Ceremony.

Visit the Noritake Pottery Park and Museum, to enjoy the worlds greatest collection of this fine ceramic ware and see how it is produced. Learn of Noritake's fascinating history and of it's unexpected range of products from teeth to knife blades. Visit the pottery kilns, galleries and ceramics markets of Shigaraki and Tokoname, two of the six ancient pottery centres of Japan.
