Iceland

Nature lovers will be awe struck by the thundering waterfalls of Iceland and the original 'Geyser' geothermal field from which the name is now used around the world. You will be able to see Myrdalsjokull glacier, home to the sub glacial volcano Katla. In Iceland we tour around by specially equipped 4 wheel drive Jeeps in order to take you way off the beaten track. Meet local bird watchers, farmers, nature enthusiasts as well as local guides, who can answer all your questions about this unique corner of our world. Birding is a major attraction here, where possible sightings could include Puffin, King Eider, Gyr Falcon, Ptarmigan, Great Skua, White-tailed Eagle, Goldeneye and Harlequin Duck.
Eruptions of Iceland's volcanos may alter our planned itinerary for this tour. Guests on this tour will certainly get an up close and personal view of the results created by the 2010 eruptions. Iceland is a much bigger land mass than it looks on a world map and there is much to be seen and done that is well away from any erupting volcano.

More than just another tour

This is a small group 'soft adventure' for people who appreciate the benefits of having local guides as well as one tour manager to be with you for the entire journey.
Unlike other tours that are not escorted or a succession of generic seat in a bus tours strung together, we have created an exclusive journey with unique content that we believe is more personal, off the beaten track and designed for the more discerning traveller. Our plan is to have a group of only 12 guests travelling in a convoy of 3 Super Jeeps, which will enable us to get off the main road and into some spectacular scenic locations. All our 4 wheel drive vehicles are equipped with satellite navigation and duel radio communication and are heated for your comfort.
All accommodation is either 4-star rated or the best available in each location. Meals included are listed in the itinerary as B=breakfast , D=dinner and where possible will be a buffet, in order for you to choose whatever you like to eat from the selection of local cuisine and more familiar dishes.
Our selected hotels are located in Reykjavik city centre, small villages and some very obscure places that are best described as 'at one with nature'.
